Chris Skoglund began serving as youth minister of Shearer Hills in March, 2002. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1996. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2000 with a Masters in Christian Education with Youth Studies emphasis. He was born and raised in Tyler, TX.
While at SFA, Chris met his wife Mindy. They were married in May of 1998. Mindy received a Bachelor of Science from SFA and a Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
As youth minister, he wants to show the youth that being a God follower is a fun experience. Chris' vision for the youth ministry is that it will be a vital part of the church and also a ministry that works alongside the parents and lay leaders in the church.
Chris enjoys sports of all kinds. He loves to play golf and basketball. He also loves just spending time with his family.
