| Phillip Sitton has been a part of the ministerial staff of Shearer Hills since September of 1971. He graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Church Music and from Southwestern Seminary with a Master's Degree in Religious Education. A native of Stamford Texas, Phillip and his wife Patricia have two married children, Christopher and Jennifer.
He and his wife served as US-2 Missionaries in Colorado with the Home Mission Board before returning to Texas for seminary. Throughout his ministry in San Antonio, Phil has been active in Texas Baptist work on an associational and state level. He has served as an officer and accompanist for the Singing Men of South Texas for twenty years and been involved in their mission projects in Hawaii, Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Costa Rica.
Phil's responsibilities at SHBC include planning all aspects of the worship services except the preaching, administration of the church finances, and supervision of the church office.
Travel is his primary interest away from work. He has led many group tours to Europe, England, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. He loves tennis, football, and being with his family. |
