Jay Ghormley began serving as Minister of Music & Worship in September 2011.  He earned a Bachelor of Music in Church Music from Baylor University (1994) and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1996). Jay has previously served other churches in Texas.

Jay and his wife, Angela, have one son, Travis. In addition to his ministry at Shearer Hills, Jay is an active member of the Singing Men of Texas. Before joining the South Texas Chapter in 2011, he co-directed the South East Chapter for six years, leading the group in mission trips to Minnesota and New Orleans and in the recording of two albums.
